I am struggling to find information on this.  Is DotNetZip going to include compatability for PKWARE AES256 encrypted files?

This page

defines which algorithms are supported.

I was just wondering what is the reasoning behind not supporting PKWARE AES256 (and I'm not implying you should)? I only ask since within my company we had an external provider switch to sending encrypted email attachment using strong password encryption in SecureZip and I've been unable to find any .net library that supports this algorithm.

Hi .

The short answer is that I have limited time, and not a lot of people have asked for PKWARE AES256.

It wouldn't be terribly difficult.  If you're interested in paying for the effort, I'll submit a proposal to you.  Yes, DotNetZip is open-source but my time is worth something.  It would probably take several weeks of coding and testing, so .. that should give you an idea of the cost.
