Can you set the icon of the Zip Package?

Feb 28, 2009 at 8:57 PM
Hi, this may be a strange question, but I have seen some tools that are able to set the icon of a package, and was wondering if this was supported by DotNetZip.  I've been using the utility for a while, and it is absolutely incredible.  I just love it.  But I was wondering about this and was curious to see if this were possible.  Maybe from an Icon embedded in the package?  I don't know how this is generally done...

Thanks Again for a great library.

M Lyons,
good question .  I was wondering the same thing myself a couple weeks back.  The answer is YES, it is possible.  I'd have to change the installation logic for the Utils MSI file, so that it writes some things into the Windows Registry.  I have done some work on that but it isn't finished yet. I will open a formal work item for your request so we can track it.  It should be available pretty soon...

ps: glad you like the library and tool.
